  • Neckline shaping, after slipping stitches:

Setup Row (WS): Bind off 2 sts., work 1 selvedge st., work row 1 of Back Cross Cable (remember on WS rows to work charts from the left edge using the WS side instructions), continue working in established rib pattern for 34 (40, 46, 52) sts., place marker for underarm gusset, work in established pattern until 6 sts. before next marker, work row 1 from the Front Cross Cable chart, work in established pattern to 6 sts. before the next marker, work row 1 of the Back Cross Cable chart, work in established pattern for 22 (28, 34, 34) sts., place marker for underarm gusset, work in established pattern until 9 sts. remain in row, work row 1 of Front Cross Cable chart, k2, work 1 selvedge st. 166 (190, 214, 238) sts.

For the next 17 (11, 11, 11) rows, work in established rib and cable patterns, slipping markers, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, decreasing as follows for the neckline shaping. On every 6th (6th, 6th, 4th) row (RS), work first 8 sts. of row in established pattern, p2tog, work until 10 sts. before end of row, p2tog tbl, work to end of the row.

  • Right sleeve:

Begin 4 x 2 rib cuff:
Rnd. 1: k2, p2, then work in 4 x 2 rib for 18 sts., place marker, continue working in rib pattern across rnd., ending with k2. Continue in established pattern, slipping marker, for 5 more rnds.

  • Begin neckline shaping:

To begin working side-to side at the neck opening, break off yarn and sl the next 43 (49, 55, 61) sts. from the left needle to the right needle. Turn work and attach yarn to begin working side-to side, starting with a WS row.
