Description

The Little Speedy is a child-sized raglan sleeve zip cardigan inspired by vintage athletic wear. The sweater is primarily worked in stockinette stitch, however, contrasting color slip stitch rib “racing stripes” on the sleeves, and seed stitch panels keep it interesting. The body and sleeves are worked separately, side to side on a circular needle, joined at the underarm and worked together for the raglan yoke. Stitches are picked up along the front edges for a zipper band with a contrasting color inside facing.

Adjust needle size as necessary to achieve stitch and row gauge. If double knitting the zipper band, you may need to use a much smaller needle to obtain gauge as double knitting tends to be very loose.
Notions: separating zipper, thread and sewing needle, stitch markers, stitch holders, scrap yarn, and darning needle
Gauge:
Stockinette stitch on the larger needle: 19 stitches x 26 rows = 4” x 4”/ 10 cm x 10 cm
Double knitted stockinette stitch on the smaller needles: 19 stitches x 26 rows = 4”x 4”/ 10 cm x 10 cm
